Gorica Quarter
Across the Osum from Mangalem lies Gorica — the quieter, more residential of Berat's two old quarters, with cobbled lanes, traditional houses and the best views back toward the castle.

Gorica is the eastern half of Berat's old town, reached by crossing the Osum via the historic Gorica Bridge. It shares Mangalem's Ottoman architecture — white houses, stone bases and overhanging upper floors — but feels calmer and more lived-in, with fewer visitors and a slower rhythm.
Why Visit
Gorica offers some of the finest views in Berat, looking back across the river to the castle and the famous windows of Mangalem. Its lanes are ideal for a quiet morning walk, and several characterful guesthouses make it a peaceful base for a stay.
